Alpental is part of The Summit at Snoqualmie and is located 50 miles east of Seattle on Interstate 90. There are 4 areas to choose from: Summit West - easy terrain. Summit Central - intermediate terrain, Alpental - advanced terrain. Hyak - intermediate but seldom open. Tickets are good at all areas. Free shuttle service between areas on weekends. The Summit has night skiing 6 days a week (not Sundays). The lower elevation makes it tricky if rain is likely because freezing levels in the winter tend to hover around 3,000 feet. Elevation at Alpental: 3,200 to 5.400. Elevation at Summit West: 3,000 to 3,900. Elevation at Summit Central: 2,860 to 3,900. Elevation at Hyak (Summit East): 2,630 to 3,700. Snow phone: 206-236-1600.
