Mt Baker is located 56 miles east of Bellingham, WA on Highway 542. Mt Baker typically has the highest annual snowfall in the US (over 650 inches on average). The backcountry is a big attraction and it seems every year they find a body from avalanches past. The managed areas are well groomed and spacious. On a clear day the view of Mt Shuksan glacier is worth the price of the lift ticket. Elevation: 3,500 to 5,000 feet. Snow phone: 360 671-0211.
